Hello Everybody,
The year 2020 has proven to be a unique time in our collective history as a community! I hope this message finds your family well and safe while the pandemic of COVID-19 continues to disrupt our daily lives and challenges us to live our days differently than expected or planned.
I have found that the community of families and folks that make up the In Harmony Music of Middle Tennessee Community have been making the best of a difficult situation and finding silver linings in time spent at home. The online programming has been part of that silver lining. Over the Spring, I began online offerings over Google Meet and then switched to Zoom services this summer. The feedback from the families who have been able to engage in both Music Together and Music Therapy services has been positive.
During this summer, I have been closely watching the statistics of COVID-19 cases in Nashville and Tennessee and following the guidelines for reopening. I also have been waiting and watching the announcements from the school systems in Davidson County and the surrounding counties. Currently, it still safer to stay at home and continue services through online offerings.
During the month of August, the Peterson’s Choir practice will be ongoing. I will be seeing individual online music therapy clients scheduled though the online scheduler. I’ll be rolling out group offerings in September, but if you are interested in either Music Together Family Classes or Music Therapy Groups, you can join the waitlist now and give your feedback on when and how you want to participate in online classes.
At this time, I cannot make any decisions on in person sessions until the city enters back into Phase 3 and schools are back to in person classes. Online offerings may be the way to go until this pandemic is a thing of the past. But, I hope we can take it one day at a time together!
Be well,
Carrie Friddell, MT-BC
